Consequently, exposure to vehicle traffic-related air pollution can have adverse effects on human health; asthma, Low Birth Weight Infants, to name these two, are the result of vehicle traffic-related air pollution exposure, and they should be fairly treated in an equitable perspective. </SPAN></SPAN></P><P STYLE="text-align:Justify;"><SPAN><SPAN>The traffic density indicator measures the sum of traffic volumes adjusted by road segment length (vehicle -kilometers per hour) divided by total road length (kilometers) within 150 meters of the census tract boundary. Data is from the traffic volumes estimates for 2017 and is measured in vehicle-km per day per road-km. Data for this indicator were collected directly from CalEnviroScreen v4.0 at the census tract level. No additional calculations or adjustments outside of what was done for CalEnviroScreen were made for purposes of the EQI.
